A statement from the EOS Group, a maritime security agency, said the tanker, Hana I, was hijacked on its way from ABIDJAN to DOUALA, southeast of Malabo. According to initial reports, two crew members from the ship were abducted.
"Hana I was observed sailing at a speed of 11 knots before drifting and continued sailing for about 80 minutes," British security company Ambrey said in an update.
The media said that the kidnapped crew members are the captain and chief engineer of the Hana I.
According to reports, on December 29, the "Hana I" departed from the port of Abidjan for Douala, and since 3:20 Beijing time on January 2, the speed of the ship has gradually decreased to slightly more than 0 knots, and the ship began to resume sailing at about 4:50. The ship has now arrived in Douala, Cameroon.
